Tokens and pricing

Tokens are prepaid credits. You buy them and spend them on articles, and your account will show your balance.

What a token is

A token is an entry in your ThankMu account that stands for prepaid credit. It is not a cryptocurrency, not an investment, and not something you can trade. Tokens cannot be transferred to another person and cannot be cashed out.

How you buy them

You will be able to buy a one-time pack of tokens or subscribe for a monthly allowance. Card payments are handled by Stripe, so your card details go to Stripe and not to us. We show the full price before you pay.

What an article costs

Per-article prices are meant to be low and uniform: a small number of tokens, shown before you spend them. You decide each time. You are never charged for blocking ads, and nothing is spent without a clear action from you.

Where the money goes

When you spend tokens on an article, the publisher receives a share of what you paid for those tokens, after payment processing. The rest covers running ThankMu. Publishers are paid through Stripe.

Refunds and unused tokens

The rules for refunds and for unused tokens will be set out in the Terms of Service before sales begin.
